If I had to guess, I'd say it's Joe cheering on while Soulface eats a beetle.
Any other ideas?
Hmm... this blog isn't really living up to its name... in fact, it's completely the same every time I check.
John - post some pictures from the Shema beach expedition. Those are SURE to be entertaining . . .
what/who is soulface?
Soulface is- or more likely, was- a praying mantis, I think. They used to watch it eat other bugs.
"Eat it, Soulface" became a ubiquitous expression among the men (at least the seniors) of our college. That's all I know.

In fact it was chanted by the male members of my class as we solemnly marched across campus to graduate. I tried to get the girls to join in, but nothin doin.
